This is a small kinetic sculpture of Falkor (or Fuchur), the luck dragon from The Neverending Story.

The crank on the end of the model can be rotated to make the dragon move in a smooth wave pattern, which you can see in the video below.

The base also includes imagery from the story, including the Ivory Tower and Southern Oracle. The black section on the right represents the Nothing, as it slowly overtakes the world.
